Solidarity support
in Belgium

Cœur Historique acts concretely at the heart of the Liège province. From cleaning unsanitary homes (SOS Diogenes) to the Social Taxi, we rebuild human connection for the most isolated people.

Cœur Historique's citizen solidarity support in Liège

Rooted in Wallonia, our non-profit is dedicated to strengthening grassroots solidarity and directly supporting local residents. Our actions are built on mutual aid, conviviality and proximity, translated into frontline support for people facing material hardship, distress or isolation. We act as a trusted social relay, convinced that every person deserves dignified, attentive and judgement-free support.

To respond to everyday emergencies, our volunteers deploy various support services. Our teams carry out the comprehensive rehabilitation of unsanitary homes through the SOS Diogenes programme, facilitate access to essential medical appointments through our network of Social Taxis in Liège, and step in to support families facing daily exhaustion. In parallel, we regularly organise shared meals and citizen activities to break isolation and simplify referral processes.

Finally, our approach is built on solidarity circularity. Thanks to the support of our partners and donors, we put material and logistical resources at the service of other non-profit projects or students seeking independence. Wanting to share what the community has given us, we now offer support grants, learning IT equipment and communication support to help tomorrow's initiatives get organised. Getting involved with us means taking part in a collective momentum rooted at the heart of our region.

Our local vision: Circular solidarity

The strength of our work rests on a sharing dynamic where logistical support from local businesses directly funds grassroots social support. This virtuous circle turns every contribution into a concrete support action.

Local Partnerships & Funding

We mobilise resources from committed local businesses. In return for their donations, we offer practical help with their communication or visibility projects, creating a lasting cooperative relationship.

Support for Liège Students

Funds raised enable study grants (up to age 25) to secure the path of young people facing material hardship, while sponsoring small solidarity initiatives led by residents of our region.

Digital Inclusion

We tackle digital isolation by distributing reconditioned equipment and essential work tools to students and neighbourhood associations lacking basic learning resources.

Lasting Support

Providing equipment is not enough; human mentoring remains our priority. We guide interns and small organisations as they learn daily management, administrative work and collective organisation.

Grassroots Social Action

This is the culmination of our commitment: the stability of our shared projects funds our urgent interventions, keeps SOS Diogenes operations running, and sustains our listening helplines.

Walloon Mutual Aid Network

We connect frontline actors (social services, neighbourhood organisations, family helpers) with our donors to form a solidarity network able to respond quickly to emergencies.
