How did we define this persona?
This space is for higher education students (universities, university colleges, technical institutes) based in Liège province. Faced with mounting academic pressure and the cost of the digital tools essential to their studies, many young people feel left to fend for themselves, both to equip themselves and to find their way. We reach out to young people in training, under 25, determined to excel in their studies but held back by the price of software subscriptions and by a lack of guidance for building their professional future.
What challenges and objectives are at stake?
Everyone we support carries their own chaos. For the overwhelmed student, that chaos takes the shape of a digital divide compounded by a lack of guidance: access to major artificial intelligence models, specialised graphic design software, office productivity tools or secure PDF editing - the cumulative cost of these subscriptions often exceeds students’ budgets, while many struggle to find a first concrete point of contact with the professional world. Bringing order to that chaos means removing this economic barrier and giving everyone a human point of support to find their direction, rather than leaving them alone to face their choices for the future.
What concrete actions have been put in place?
Strand 1 — What the non-profit puts in place structurally: Cœur Historique runs a support and study-grant scheme entirely focused on digital tools. We provide, free of charge, all the licences and subscriptions needed for academic success (office tools, advanced PDF solutions, access to leading AI at reduced or no cost, design and graphics suites), together with technical support to set these environments up. This coverage is guaranteed throughout the entire course of study, up to the age of 25.
Strand 2 — What our volunteers offer from their own experience: Within our network, volunteer professionals from a range of sectors open the doors of their trade to our students, free of charge: they welcome them for thematic internships that let them discover a sector of activity first-hand and build an initial professional network. This is shared on the basis of their own life and career experience, never as a paid service, and with nothing expected in return.
