Leaving a Legacy
Including the non-profit Cœur Historique in your will means extending your values of solidarity beyond your lifetime. This step, governed by law, deserves calm and confidential consideration.
What is a legacy?
A legacy is a testamentary provision through which you transfer all or part of your estate to a person or organisation of your choice. There are three main types: the universal legacy (the entire estate), the legacy under general title (a share of the estate) and the specific legacy (a particular asset).
A favourable tax framework for accredited non-profits
As an accredited association, Cœur Historique can benefit from a reduced inheritance tax rate compared to an unrelated beneficiary. In certain situations, a mechanism called the "duo legacy" even allows you to optimise the share passed on to your loved ones while supporting a cause close to your heart. This mechanism depends on your personal situation and deserves an individual analysis.
A decision that remains yours
We are neither notaries nor tax advisors: any decision to leave a legacy must be drawn up with a notary, the only person authorised to draft and authenticate a will. We remain available to answer your questions about our work and to talk confidentially, with no obligation on your part.
