1. Why group activities?
Social isolation is often the first consequence — and sometimes the root cause — of the vulnerable situations Cœur Historique encounters in the field: Diogenes syndrome, burnout, precarity, the loss of a loved one. Rebuilding a simple social bond, free of stakes or pressure, is an essential step towards lasting well-being.
Our group activities have no performance target or numerical goal. They offer an informal meeting space where everyone can come at their own pace, leave whenever they wish, and gradually rediscover the simple pleasure of being surrounded by others.
Community meals: a moment shared over a friendly meal, open without any conditions or prior justification.
Solidarity outings and walks: outdoor moments designed to break the routine and get some fresh air, alone or accompanied.
2. Our activity formats
Our activities take various forms depending on needs identified in the field in Liège: regular community meals, shared workshops (DIY, cooking, digital), small-group solidarity walks, or individual support during simple cultural outings.
Every activity is supervised by our volunteers, in a spirit of welcome and kindness — the goal is never to "boost numbers", but to create a space where every participant genuinely feels welcome.
3. A stepping stone to other forms of support
For many beneficiaries, these group activities are often the first contact with the non-profit, before they dare to raise a more personal difficulty (housing, burnout, administrative isolation). It is a space that is both self-contained and connected to all our services.
